August 2015:
Dr. Albert is teaching a new graduate level elective titled “Survey of Contemporary Polymers Research” (CENG6420) this fall. This literature-based course is focused on the latest advances in in polymer science, from synthesis to application. Basic understanding of polymer science principles is assumed. Interested students are encouraged to contact Dr. Albert about the course at jalbert6@tulane.edu.

Gio is appointed President of the CBE Graduate Student Association for the 2015-2016 academic year.


April 2015:
Dr. Albert is selected as one of eight recipients of the prestigious Gulf Research Program Early-Career Research Fellowship from the National Academy of Sciences to conduct research on nanoporous membranes for enhanced oil recovery from oil spills. More information at: http://www.nas.edu

Dr. Albert’s proposal to the Louisiana Board of Regents Research Competitiveness Subprogram on tailoring polymer blend self-assembly to create periodic structures across multiple length scales is recommended for funding.


February 2015:
Baraka is selected for the National Society for Black Engineers (NSBE) Board of Corporate Affiliates (BCA) scholarship recognizing his academic achievements and dedicated service to NSBE and our campus community. Congratulations, Baraka!


November 2014:
Giovanni presents his research at the 2014 AIChE Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.


October 2014:
The Albert Group welcomes its newest member – William Isaac Albert born on October 17, 2014.


May 2014:
Giovanni receives the Louisiana Board of Regents Graduate Fellowship recognizing his academic achievements, excellent performance in the lab, and commitment to the department.
